About Us

The Common Mission

The mission of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station and NWFL Marine Education and Discovery of Gulf Ecosystems, Inc. is to promote the appreciation, conservation, and understanding of the marine ecosystem of coastal Florida through education, service and hands-on, feet-wet experiences. The future Gulf Coast Discovery Center and Gateway to the Gulf Pavilion are a result of the overwhelming response to and continued growth of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station…more space is needed for expanded programs and visitors like you!

NWFL Marine EDGE - Vision

Phase I is the construction of the Gateway to the Gulf Pavilion and Down by the Shore touch tank. The Gateway to the Gulf Pavilion will serve as a gathering place for education and conservation programs, and exploration of Navarre Beach through guided and self-guided tours. It will also feature WTR-TV (Watch the Reef TV); a perfect view for visitors from a strategically placed live feed underwater video camera on the gulf side artificial reefs.

Phase II includes the construction of a 9000 sq. ft. interpretive center named the Gulf Coast Discovery Center. The Gulf Coast Discovery Center will feature a wet lab, multi-purpose classroom, and 5,000 sq. ft. of exhibits showcasing local marine life.

While waiting for the exciting project to be completed…enjoy the programming offered at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station. Fabulous, fun events for all ages including guided beach walks, kayaking classes and tours, SUP (stand up paddleboard) classes and tours and much more!
